Why is primary education a fundamental good?

Primary Education is not a birthright of the rich and well-to-do; it is the basic right of every child. Individuals and society both benefit from the Right to Education. It is essential for human, social and economic development and a key element to achieving long-term peace and sustainable development.

The word primary means “the great importance,” and the word Education means “an important training.” Primary Education plays a vital role, especially in the success or failure of something. It is an approved right, and it contributes to the full development of the human personality. Being the youngest members of society at this stage, children learn to read and write. It is guidance where students are achievers.

Every child has good mental intelligence, and they are the quickest learners to grip the new knowledge according to the primary sources.

Primary Education contributes directly to poverty reduction. It is the level of Education through which most poor children pass and within which their achievements should help them to break the cycle of poverty. The report made by the Secretary-General of the UN in 2006 confirms that universal Primary Education is central to the fight against poverty, and it is a key to wealth creation. It increases the rate of return on the economy.

Primary education has a higher rate of return than secondary education. It also enables those ordinary employments to earn higher wages. A newly published paper by UNESCO shows that “one year of primary education is associated with a 10% increase in wages.”

It is a remarkable factor in the development of children, communities, and countries. It is essential to the functioning of developed economies. The second United Nations Millennium Development Goal was to “ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling.” This goal was missed, but notable progress has been made. In 1999, only 81% of children in the developing world were attending primary school, and today the figure is around 92%.

Pakistan has expressed its commitment to promoting education and literacy in the country by education policies at the domestic level and getting involved in international commitments on education. In this regard, educational policies are the visions that suggest plans to increase literacy rate, capacity building, and increase facilities for educational purposes.

Primary Education mainly focuses on learning the areas that would be beneficial for the children in the long term. It is the deep-rooted education that should be available for every child.

Beyond the question of availability, the right to education also supposes that the objectives of learning will be achieved. It means that all children have the right to benefit from a quality education modified to their needs. Moreover, professors must be trained in techniques of teaching which combine study and play for the purpose of generating children’s interest.

EAST pre-primary and the primary curriculum are designed under the proper research, and it is according to the children’s interests. We are providing a greater objective of an international standard education along with the touch of Islamic values. East has developed a complete ECE (Early Childhood Education) program for Pakistani schools according to international standards. It’s Pakistan’s best curriculum where students can engage effectively in a language and can easily enhance their basic core skills.
